Quotes from Leigh Bardugo

I hate hiding how much the stupid things he did hurt me, but I hated the idea of him finding out even more.

—Leigh Bardugo in Shadow and Bone

Maybe love was superstition, a prayer we said to keep the truth of loneliness at bay. I tilted my head back. The stars looked like they were close together, when really they were millions of miles apart. In the end, maybe love just meant longing for something impossibly bright and forever out of reach.

—Leigh Bardugo in Ruin and Rising

I missed you every hour. And you know what the worst part was? It caught me completely by surprise. I'd catch myself just walking around to find you, not for any reason, just out of habit, because I'd seen something that I wanted to tell you about or because I wanted to hear your voice. And then I'd realize that you weren't there anymore, and every time, every single time, it was like having the wind knocked out of me.

—Leigh Bardugo in Shadow and Bone

—Leigh Bardugo in Shadow and Bone
