Maurice Bernard Sendak (; June 10, 1928 – May 8, 2012) was an American author and illustrator of children's books. He became most widely known for his book Where the Wild Things Are, first published in 1963.
It is through creating, not possessing, that life is revealed.
An object in possession seldom retains the same charm that it had in pursuit.
Desire makes everything blossom; possession makes everything wither and fade.
To have little is to possess.
To have plenty is to be perplexed.
